
Meet Andrea
Andrea Lara is a Research Associate with the VIBRANT MOM’s Project at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Amarillo, Texas. Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Texas Tech University in 2023, where she developed a strong foundation in nutritional science. She went on to complete her Master of Public Health from the Julia Jones Matthews School of Population and Public Health, TTUHSC in 2024, further strengthening her skills in epidemiology, health behavior, and population-based research. Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, and raised in West Texas, Andrea’s bilingual and bicultural background brings valuable perspective to her research and community engagement. She is passionate about advancing culturally competent care and addressing health disparities in maternal health. Through VIBRANT MOM’s, Andrea supports data collection, and community outreach. Her work is deeply rooted in public health principles and a commitment to empowering mothers and families through accessible, evidence-based information.
